According to “Business News” („Verslo žinios“) since the 1st of May, persons will be obliged to submit the advance common declaration of arrival (ENS) to customs no later than one hour till the entrance into the road border customs post. The reason is that the practice invoked earlier, when the person, who had not ENS could enter the customs post and wait till customs broker will submit obligatory common declaration for him did not justify itself according to the customs. Allegedly such waiting persons were making artificial obstacles for drivers, who had submitted ENS in time, to clear customs formalities quicker.
As comments Giedrius Lubas, the director of Transit Service Center (UAB „Tranzito paslaugų centras“) “our enterprise has a long time ago settled down practice to settle down all declarations in a remote way and to submit them for customs in advance, sometimes the arriving goods are being declared few days before the vehicle enters the border customs post. The carriers which drivers will have to wait additionally at customs broker in the customers service point at the border will suffer. Such kind of practice becomes still more outdated.”
